Jen Nicholson is the proud owner of Pukka Pilates in Owatonna, Minnesota, where she shares her passion for Pilates with her community.
As a lifelong fitness enthusiast, Jens passion is strength training. Over time (and into her 40’s), she noticed her progress starting to plateau and began to experience more aches, pains and setbacks in her training. In 2019, Jen discovered the transformative power of Pilates and rekindled her strength training passion. What started as a way to support her workouts quickly became a true passion. Jen realized that Pilates wasn’t just an add-on — it was the missing link that connected strength, control, and functional movement in a way no other training method had. Today, she shares that life-changing connection with her clients, helping them build stronger, more resilient bodies through the power of Pilates.
Dedicated to preserving the authenticity of Pilates, Jen respects and practices the traditional method while staying open to innovation that enhances client experience. She believes that foundational Pilates—taught with care, precision, and knowledge—offers the greatest benefits, and she is committed to maintaining the integrity of the practice.
Jen takes certifications and continuing education seriously, investing significant time and resources to deepen her expertise. She believes that a strong foundation and ongoing learning are essential to delivering real results for her clients. Her mission is to protect and honor the roots of Pilates, ensuring her clients experience the full transformative power it offers.
Jens favorite part of teaching is watching her clients progress—finding better balance, gaining strength and flexibility, boosting their confidence, and ultimately falling in love with movement. Her goal is to create a supportive and knowledgeable environment where everyone can thrive.
Karlee Dreves
Karlee Dreves is a dedicated Pilates instructor who is passionate about the transformative power of movement. Growing up as a dancer, she developed a strong appreciation for movement and wellness from an early age. Her extensive background in dance, combined with years of running and strength training, gives Karlee a deep understanding of the body in motion and a distinctive approach to Pilates instruction.
Karlee discovered Pilates in 2019 while pursuing her BA in Dance at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. She quickly developed a love for the practice as it significantly enhanced her strength, flexibility, and balance. Initially intended to support her dance career, Pilates soon became a vital component of her fitness routine, offering numerous benefits for her body. Inspired by her own impactful experience with Pilates, Karlee is deeply passionate about sharing the advantages of this movement style with others.
Karlee is dedicated to delivering the highest level of expertise in her Pilates instruction. She is classically trained through Balanced Body and continually enhances her knowledge through ongoing education and certifications. Karlee upholds the core principles of traditional Pilates in her teaching—control, precision, breath, flow, centering, and concentration. Her teaching style is primarily classical, with elements of contemporary Pilates to ensure a dynamic and engaging experience for her clients.
Karlee finds joy in sharing the benefits of Pilates and helping others cultivate a passion for movement. She feels fulfilled by enabling her clients to become stronger, more confident, and overall happier and healthier in their bodies. Her mission is to provide exceptional training and engaging movement experiences that empower each individual. Karlee is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment where each of her clients are eager to learn and equipped to achieve their unique fitness goals.
